Nicholas Taleb is well known for his book The Black Swan, about the impact of improbable events. In his new book he explores the idea that having “skin in the game” is necessary for fairness, commercial efficiency, and risk management – and to understand the world. It’s so easy to sit on the sidelines and give advice, or tell everyone how it should be, but when you are actually involved in something a new level of understanding unfolds. It’s the difference between action and cheap talk, practice and theory, genuine and cosmetic, ethical and legal, and so on…It’s a delight to read, an absorbing and illuminating demonstration of how having skin in the game applied to all aspects of our lives.
