This is the book for the wine buff who has everything. It’s a huge atlas , that looks at the history of wine, starting with the countries that made wine over 3,000 years ago (all in the middle east and Black Sea area). You then go to 1500 BC, 500 BC, as wine making spreads through the Mediterranean and even to China and England. And on to 1800 – and two of the countries that have started making wine since then, the United States and Australia, are now the 4th and 5th largest producers in the world. For each country you get wonderful maps of which grapes are grown where, of what wines were first made and what are made now, and all the statistics. A beautiful production that you just want to dip into all the time.
