I don’t know where to begin with Words in Deep Blue, other than this was beautiful.
Words is a simple story at its core, but the author writes with so much heart, it’s transformed into something unputdownable as you quickly become swept up in her words, and the lives of the characters.
In all honesty, I found the story and romance to be predicable, but that didn’t take away the enjoyment this book bought me and how engrossing it is, which says a lot.
I can't tell you the number of times I've heard non-Aussies say there's something in the water Down Under because without fail, they deliver extra sparkle, and not the Edward Cullen kind; that something that can't be named and it's not Voldermort related.
The more OzYA I read, and Aus lit in general, the more I concur because there's something so special about the Australian writers who bring our favourites to life. Not to be missed if you love books, as this is quite the love letter to the written word, second-hand book shops, and the magic of a good book.
