UPDATE: photos from the festival below!
"The most learned men have been questioned as to the nature of this tuber, and after two thousand years of argument and discussion their answer is the same as it was on the first day: we do not know. The truffles themselves have been interrogated, and have answered simply: eat us and praise the Lord."
– Alexandre Dumas
High praise indeed – and although we now know much more about truffles than Dumas, they haven't become any less delicious. That's why the Mundaring Truffle Festival is returning in 2012, and looks to be better than ever. As an visitor to the festival, you'll attend workshops and talks by famous chefs, watch truffle dogs in action, learn all about how to cook with truffles and of course, stuff yourself with scrumptious truffle dishes and other gourmet delights.
The program for 2012 promises a knockout lineup of chefs including Neil Perry, Anna Gare, Nino Zoccali, Guillame Brahimi, Alain Fabrègues and Emmanuel Mollois.
Of course, the Boffins festival bookshop will be back, letting you take home a bit of whatever inspired you at the festival. We'll also be hosting a number of book signings over the course of the weekend - check back here for our signing schedule.
The Mundaring Truffle Festival is one of our favourite events of the year. The food is downright delicious and it's a chance to explore the beautiful Perth hills area. We sincerely hope to see you there.
