About Built Perth

Challenging Perth's somewhat lacklustre architectural reputation, McKendrick and Langdon have uncovered the fascinating storeies behind 50 of the city's most iconic historic and contemporary buildings and combined these with beautiful illustrations.  The most loved and controversial architectural works of Perth are featured, from a prison built by convicts who were to be incarcerated there to an arena inspired by an 'unsolvable' puzzle.

About the Authors

Tom Mckendrick hails from the North of England and has a degree in architecture from Northumbria University.  He worked in various architectural practices in Perth before turning his attention towards his lifelong passion of illustration and graphic design.  He now runs his own company, TMK Graphics, based in Fremantle.

Born in Perth, Elliot Langdon has a Master of Architecture from the University of Western Australia.  He currently works as an architecture graduate at a Perth-based firm on projects in the education, retail, commercial and hospitality sectors.
