As a long-time fan of Robin Hobb, I was so excited to hear that she was returning to the world of Fitz and the Fool. As this is the first book in the trilogy, a lot of it is scene-setting and reacquainting yourself with the characters - but Hobb's writing is what makes Fool's Assassin a stand-out book, and the pleasure of learning more about the world of the Six Duchies is more than enough to propel this book forward. The book opens with Fitz and Molly, now raising their family at Withywoods. Of course, things in Fitz's life never stay quiet for long. If you're all caught up on Game of Thrones, Robin Hobb is the perfect follow up.
