Written by Arthur Phillip , Admiral of the first fleet, and Watkin Tench, Captain-lieutenant, the journals chronicle the details of the voyage to the landing at Botany Bay in 1788, the first meetings with Aboriginal people, along with the early life of the settlement at Port Jackson.
