Amy is a keen children’s book nerd and spends a lot of time reading and reviewing picture books with her toddler, Fenrir. But it’s not all colourful pictures! Her passion is getting kids reading, and her life's mission is to get the right books in the right hands. Ask her for advice or recommend something to her and watch her eyes light up!
One is a beautiful novel about sisterhood and friendship. The story follows Grace and Tippi, conjoined twins, who upon reaching sixteen are no longer able to be home schooled and must enter the real world. The girls are joined at the waist but each have their own heart and personality. While one is sharp and confident, the other is quiet and pensive, they both agree that they could not live without the other. Unfortunate circumstances cause them to make some of the most difficult decisions of their lives and the results are a tumultuous journey that made the book very emotional reading, but hard to put down. I like that the girls are portrayed in a natural way and the author has really researched the mentality of twins and helps the reader to understand that even though they’re together all the time and may want space, they couldn’t imagine being separated.
