Marijke is the Customer Service Supervisor at Boffins and has been a Boffin for over five years, and a bird fanatic for even longer. She reads anything interesting.

The first half of this book seems like standard thriller fare - Caitlin O'Hara, a workaholic child psychologist, is called in to a case where a teen aged ambassador's daughter begins having fits and speaking in tongues. At first it seems clear that is related to the recent assassination attempt on her father, but after other young people around the world have the same attacks, Caitlin believes that something far more sinister is happening. The second half of the book dives into familiar territory for X-Files fans - lost civilisations, regression hypno-therapy, and world-ending events. Despite the paranormal plot devices, the book is clearly grounded in the real world and Caitlin's clinical approach to her work makes the book fly.
