How secure is shopping online with Boffins?
Extremely. As a small independent business, we don't have the resources, security and expertise to store your card details on-site, so we don't store them at all. When you shop with us, your card details are sent directly to our payment gateway, SecurePay, and then on to ANZ. SecurePay is a subsidiary of Australia Post and is used by over 20,000 businesses Australia-wide.
In addition to that, every page where you enter personal information uses 256-bit encryption to ensure that communication with Boffins is completely secure.
The Boffins website is NOT vulnerable to the April 2014 “Heartbleed” bug.
Do you stock any fiction/children's books?
Yes! As of April 2014, we stock a large range of both fiction and children's books in addition to our existing technical and specialist range.
Is the stock I see on the website real-time?
Yes. Every book shown as "in stock" on our website is in stock in our shop. There can be a small delay, usually less than five minutes, between stock levels being updated in the store and the website.
When will my package be sent?
If your books are in stock, an order placed before 2pm (Australian Western Standard Time, GMT+8) on a business day will be shipped the same day. Orders placed later in the day or on weekends will be shipped on the next business day. Out of stock titles are shipped on the day we receive them.
When will I receive my package?
This depends on the shipping method you choose, and where you're located. See our shipping section for more information.
How can I pay for my order?
Web orders must be paid by credit card when the order is placed. However, we don't actually charge your card until our staff have processed your order.
