134 poets are represented, from the 19th century through to today and there are many regional poems, fitting for such a big state.
These poems have so much meaning for us, they’ve helped define the ways that we Sandgropers see ourselves. It even includes a poem by the aforesaid Henry Prinsep (Book:Carlotta's Perth), titled Josephine, and is of course about his wife.
Alfred Chandler, a.k.a “Spinifex” is there with his Goldfields poems “Lights Along the Mile” and “Coolgardie 1893”, alongside “Dryblower” (Edwin Murphy) and “Crosscut (Thomas Wilson)
Dorothy Hewett, Fay Zwicky, Katherine Susannah Prichard are all included. It’s a perfect gift for anyone who loves poetry and in particular, a Western Australian collection.
